Attention: Software Developers, Return Transmitters and Authorized IRS e-file Providers/EROs

The Electronic Filing PIN Help Application is strictly for taxpayers:

§        who filed a 2008 Form 1040, Form 1040A, Form 1040EZ or Form 1040-SS (PR),

§        whose return was processed by Dec. 13, 2009, and

§        who do not have a record of their prior year AGI or Self-Select PIN (SSP).

 

Beginning Jan. 18, 2010, the Electronic Filing PIN Help Application will be available to file 2009 tax returns.

 

The EFP is a temporary PIN used to verify taxpayer’s identities when e-filing 2009 tax returns, extensions with payments, and installment agreements..

 

When requesting an electronic filing PIN three options will be available on Jan.. 18. for taxpayers who do not have their prior year AGI or SSP.
