The Texas DOR is reporting they are receiving returns without the 2-D barcode.  This was a temporary issue and the fix was available Feb. 24th.  Please make sure you are up to date on your Texas upgrades and filing only forms with a 2-D barcode.

The Texas DOR indicates “If a return is received without a 2D barcode and our automated system identifies it as correspondence, then it becomes backup to another taxpayer’s return.  The return without the 2D barcode will not get processed and the taxpayer will get a Delinquent Notice.  If the taxpayer owes tax, then they can also be accessed penalty and interest.  If the system is unsure if the form is a return or correspondence it will require an operator to identify the form.  In this instance the return will be processed, but it requires 100% data entry.  The Taxpayer should only submit returns that have the 2D barcode printed on them to ensure their return gets processed in a timely fashion.”
